COTTON LINTERS

Cotton linters are extensively used in the manufacturing of stamp papers, currency Cotton linters are silky fibres extracted from the outer coating of cotton seeds through ginning papers, and as cellulose in the chemical industry. This pulp is produced from the short seed hairs of the cotton plant. When cotton is ginned, the long staple cotton is removed from the seed and used in the textile industry to make cloth. Then the seed is further processed in a machine called a “linter”, which removes the rest of the seed hairs (the closer to the seed, the shorter the fiber). The first pass of the seed through the linter machine results in 1st cut cotton linters; the next pass produces 2nd cut cotton linters.

COTTON SEED

Cotton seeds are the seeds of the cotton plant. Cotton seeds are ovoid, 3.5-10 mm long. They are densely covered with white or rusty, long and woolly hairs, called the lint, which is the main product used to make cotton textiles, and shorter hairs (linters). All elements of cotton seed as it is often considered as Golden Goose Linters, cotton seed meal, kernels, and hulls, are used in various consumer products, delicious food, and nutritious feed for animals.

RAW COTTON

Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective case, around the seeds of the cotton plants. The fiber is almost pure cellulose, and can contain minor percentages of waxes, fats, pectins, and water.Cotton is known for its versatility, performance and natural comfort. Cotton’s strength and absorbency makes it an ideal fabric to make clothes and homewares, and industrial products like tarpaulins, tents, hotel sheets, army uniforms, and even astronauts’ clothing choices when inside a space shuttle.
